Leveling up to a digital business is hard (It's what I do for clients!) and many people are scrambling to do so. We've entered a period of hyper-evolution. Before COVID-19, a business could balance revenue between digital and their on-location business. But now that has changed and the hyper-accelerated to digital has taken over. Just look at the increase in online purchases and the recent growth of Amazon.

As a new version of normal life unfolds we need to translate insights and brand equity into experiences that drive performance. But for every business that can see its way through the transition will find that they are in an even stronger position. As we will inevitably see many businesses fall, while we see the rise of the new world order. Yes, an estimated 12,000 retail locations are expected to close. But don't let that number skew your perspective—what dies in the mall is being reborn online, and what was born online is increasingly crossing over to the physical world.

A larger percentage will maintain the switch to a Digital-first position as a permanent mindset. Overall the future is bright and we have to embrace the changes to survive and thrive. The time to craft a well-designed digital business is now. Why? Because the digital marketplace is also becoming hyper-competitive. Those late to act might find themselves left behind.
